Gavin Morrison is a curator, writer, and publisher based in Marseille and Scotland. He is a director of Atopia Projects, a curatorial and publishing initiative. From 2015 to 2017 he was the Artistic Director at Skaftfell, Center of Visual Art, East Iceland.
Present research interests include, developing an exhibition of the work of the architect Berthold Lubetkin in Tbilisi, Georgia and writing a book, The Malcontents: a search for the cannons that James Boswell (1740-95) sent to Pasquale Paoli's forces in 1768 and which may or may not have arrived on the island. The book follows this narrative through the consideration of material cultural artefacts from Scotland, Corsica and beyond. In September 2017 he will be a fellow at the Lewis Walpole Library, Yale University.
